I purchased 3 of the NAPA #4077 oil analysis kits about a year ago. I paid around $15 each for these and it includes the bottles, submission form, labels and the actual analysis. I broke one open this weekend to send in a sample from my diesel Silverado and as I was filling out the paperwork, I noticed a line on the top of the form that said "Expires 10-30-2011"! WHAT? My prepaid oil analysis expired? On what basis can they do this? I filled out the form and sent the sample in anyway. I hope they do the analysis. If not, they are going to have to write a lot of letters responding to the BBB, Consumer affairs, Yelp etc....

Wix issued a notification of these a while back I believe because of this reason(they expire).I bet the NAPA system never got wind of it.Contact your nearest NAPA Distribution Center (warehouse). They would make a call to Atlanta to see if what you say is correct. The least they could do if they dont honor the samples is replace the kits with new ones.I guess next time, check the date before buying.I think its WIX covering its butt with the exp date so 10 years from now people arent trying to use old ones.

I do not think the ones from Polaris/UOA expire.

But if they are sold and unused the company must keep the money in reserve until they are used. So some tax implications but nothing major.

Similar to airlines need to keep money in reserve to cover freq. flyer miles.
