having bought and installed 3 of those specific filters (7317 cross reference) all of them have been silicone gaskets premium guards. you much be a low volume area. need to either buy up the old stock to find a store with more commercial customers.
As I said, it's no big deal to me either way. Simply pointing out that others may still get nitrile, in fact other members have posted that same (nitrile) observation. Clearly, it's a priority for you, so congrats on buying from store that has the red gaskets with newer stock.
That video and some of the posts here made me switch away from Napa gold after buying them for years. I then went with amsoil thinking they were solid. I’m mistaken with that choice and posted about it in another thread.
To confirm, the now (largely) Chinese/Vietnamese made filters branded "Napa Gold" are better than the ones made often made in NC/domestically by wix?

100%. Wix was my go to for 20+ years. M+H ruined Wix quality.
I was a denier back in the day - 1995 or so I thought M&H were top notch
I do believe their Euro made filters may still be top notch. Others will chime in.
The M+H filters made in Europe in their own factories have top notch build quality. Its the companies they have acquired and operate (Purolator and WIX) that seem to have issues.

That's still a good option. I would run QS and an EG. I would rather this combo over a M&H made Wix.
