Napa gold air filter eBay 2002 use it or not?

Hi all. On eBay I found a napa gold air filter 4153. It's made in USA and the codes printed on it are from 2002. June 02 2002. It was still wix then, comes in napa blue white box from that time . It looks very good .
Could I use it or should I pass on it? Like could the molding,paper be micro deteriorated just not visible?

Pass, go try to "dunk it" in the trash...have fun w/it. Otherwise return it as damaged product. If that fails then Cut & Post it here.

It's still good. Make sure there are no holes, as small bugs tends to eat the air filter paper even inside the box. Exposure to moisture makes the paper damped even inside the box as well.

Hmm, I have never had issues with aged air filters. Id use it after a close inspection.

It has a little discolortion but everything else looks good. Seller wants $17.99. has 4 of them in stock. 2 for $16.88 4 for $14 each. I average changing my filters about every 3 years having 18-21000 miles on.
Filter now is a carquest premium I installed 2 years ago 17000 miles or so on it it has black on it,dirt but in between pleats look good .
The napa golds then were made by wix. I watched project farms air filter test, fram did poor. Commercial brands middle road filtering. Best was wix, then pure one then Delco.
So thiers a difference.
I like the napa golds because wix,made on USA . Supposed to be actual wix filtering . I don't like the new wixes today outsourced n made overseas. Maybe not same filtering quality.
My concern is these napas on eBay disintegrating in use over 3 plus years....or think till hold up?
