New air filter installed today, pics!

Simple post wanted to share with everyone here ,we all love seeing used n new filters! Let alone oil filters! As simple as it is, enjoy
98 LeSabre. 15 to17000 miles over 2 1/2 years on old filter. Carquest premium. Looks neat up. Only one little moth other side of it. Think it still could a been used up to 30,000 miles?
Installed 2008 napa gold wix made I always wanted to try. Because it's USA n wix made . 2 Orange looking media filters.

IF it doesn't filter as fine it certainly has a lot more media compared to the Carquest so an argument could be made for capacity. The other one didn't look too bad though. Perhaps try 24k (under supervision as per previous post)? What does Buick say about interval? Does that LeSabre hood flip up like they previously did (Uncommon way)?

Buick book says 30,000 miles or dusty dirty conditions sooner . Inspect filter media every 6 months too I think l.
Noticed too, right of filter media thiers a hole in it.something ate it.or it's a tear .
Either way it's wavy n beat up pretty good

I'd seen that in the picture & was going to question it but figured it was just a dimple/pushed down or you've done a pre-inspection already & nothing to report. Well, It goes without saying... we don't want holes in the filter. The Napa Gold has tighter packed media so maybe it will hold up better.

Yes .well tier was a different seller,same thing. Went with another seller,surplus military had 2 of these for $24. Other seller was $16.88 each limited time discount from $17.99.

I removed the rubber flex from air box cover too mass airflow sensor n throttle body . The screen over throttle was black. So to me,the carquest filter was letting stuff go by..dirt.
