Mysterious walking woman ...again..

No. Still probing. Letting the dog do his thing. Judging women. He's good at it - knows who is ok and who going to be a problem. How I have no idea. I trust his judgement in women over my own.

The raspy smokers voice and age was enough to turn me off completely. I wonder if she smells like old cigs. I bet she does.

I still say she is likely a prostitute of the street walker variety.

Probably paying for a drug habit.

It sounds like she is casing the neighborhood.

I am serious. You have a woman you have never seen, you suspect drug use, and she is just randomly in the area? And you saw her three times now?

I'll bet she is looking at cars in the parking lot. Maybe she is giving the information back to her dealer, or, possibly even, pimp.

I used to live somewhere where a certain woman, very much like your description, and older, was super friendly with everyone.. but also had a way of seeing what they could get out of you. Then, when you said "no," everyone started to sneer and treat you different.

This one is trouble. If it is a police decoy, call up the station, ask for a supervisor, and ASK, and share the concern. That seems a little different than ratting her out.

I used to live somewhere with a police force so strict that this person would have been approached by an officer, asked for ID, and a chat about why she was there, that they got calls about her being suspicious. How it went from there is up to them. And if the has drugs, and she ain't a cop (what would constitute an undercover being out there? It does not add up, unless there was a recent rape case or something, maybe,) is up to them.. and if she has those drugs, or is on it, she gets to sober up in jail, then get out and do it again.

If you feel like something isn't right, and you have some inner voice telling you it doesn't add up, ask the police chief if there are decoys. Same way we have campus police around here. They look for ANYTHING like this.

They can do a lot.

Then can interrogate her at the roadside, arrest her if the does not have the ID, run the ID for warrants due to her acting suspiciously (the same way I could expect to be greeted by police if I walked along with my hand in my coat like I had a gun past businesses with everybody seeing me, etc etc etc - they could stop and search me and ask for ID, and if I didn't have one, yell at me) and even arrest her if she had something.

Now I am conflicted about him calling, though, because if she is just a weirdo out walking.. then.. is that criminal? It COULD be the prostitution ring, but.. well..

I don't know.

Some people call the police on ANY and EVERYTHING, including improperly hung flags. And, sometimes, cops actually go check it out! In this case she may be gone by the time they do, but.. she doesn't seem TOO hard to find.

maybe, just maybe, she's just walking around....maybe she has something on her mind and is working it out. C'mon folks....police? At this point? I think some of you are being paranoid.

The raspy smokers voice and older age turned you off....let it be. So what if she's a hooker....is she drumming up business in front of you....seems to me you're in line for a good smack down if she isn't. She might just be a good person...aside from her major flaws....raspy smokers voice and aged features....lol!

I seriously doubt if the police would confirm if she's a decoy....would sort of defeat the purpose wouldn't it?

If it were me, I wouldn't sweat it. The original post was about concern for the woman's safety. Was she lost, in trouble, etc and should anyone get involved if she needed help. Turns out she wasn't lost or in trouble, just acting "different" than we would normally expect a middle aged woman to act. She doesn't seem to be hurting anyone, (other than possibly herself) and maybe is just lonely. In my line of work, I meet a lot of lonely people who do some pretty weird things to pass the time and meet other people. The solution to this problem is actually very simple but can be kinda scary. A simple question like "hey, do you live around here?" (said in a friendly way of course) can open a whole can of worms. If she's the "lady of the evening" some of us are assuming, things could get uncomfortable. If she's not a "lady of the evening" some of us are assuming, things could get uncomfortable. Ultimately, this question isn't about her, it's about us - how we feel about other people and how we judge them. I know we're not suppose to toss "religion" around on this site, but I can't help but think of the words of Jesus who said, "when you have done it to the least of these, you have done it unto me." I'm not always 100 pecent, but I try to treat people in the same way as I would treat Jesus if he were standing there. It makes my life a lot easier.

She could still be a ghost. If she does exactly the same thing over and over again.

I know some people who live outside of the city near a river in a kind of rural area. Occasionally they see a large black dog run down the road in exactly the same way and doing exactly the same thing over and over again. They don't know of anybody in that area who owns such a dog. They and I have pretty much come to the conclusion that it is a ghost dog.
