Actually a few left at my Wal-Mart. I just bought a few for my 7.3 Diesel. I may go back to get the rest!

Motorcraft filters are gone but they now sell K and Nair filters
so betwen the Frams and the K/N you can get dirt in your oil and your air.

Ain't that the truth. I have to laugh at all the cars that come into the shop with the Fram Tough Guard oil filter and K & N air filter.

BTW, I am seeing a large amount of the gray "Extra" guard filters. The only difference seems to be costing extra money. I have cut about 30 open. I gues they have a silicone ADBV, but what good is it because it fits loosely and seals against cardboard?

Lubeowner,

It must be a strange sight for some people watching you cut open all those filters in your shop. They next time someone asks you why you do it (and I am sure you have been asked) you should tell them that the government pays you to return the tracking devices that they put in the oil filters.

On a more serious note. With all the filters you have cut open, you must have developed some tricks for doing it quickly. Please tell us the easiest way.

K&N:
good airflow
not good filtering
fine for clean street environment / racing etc

have seen side by side test on diesel pickups in desert with OEM vs. K&N
downstream ducting from filter definitely more dirty with K&N

Ditto here, no more Motorcraft oil filters at the local Wally's. Only Agent Orange and ST, and very few STs at that. The only air filters I saw were Frams. The normal orange, the Air Hawgs, and a new Tough Guard air filter.

Been running K&N for years on multiple cars/street high performance and race cars. If properly cleaned and oiled I have never had any issues....the performance enhancements are excellent and the maintenance is easy.
