Sometimes after I exit the car and lock the doors, the radio (if I didn't turn it off manually) all interior and dash lights, and exterior light will turn on and off. I will also hear the bell chime inside. I have to play with the key fob to calm it down and not drain my battery. Drained my battery once overnight.

Anyone have a clue? Thanks!

Could be the thing in the ignition switch that believes your key is still there is shot. Car might have "residual power" that runs stuff even if the key is off, as long as it's still present.

Could be the BCM. My 01 Impala would randomly sputter the locks(unlock/lock) a thousand times a second. During the rain it would chime once or twice through the night(could hear it in the house). Often times it would also open the trunk on its own...

BCM was replaced due to an issue with "Security" flashing and it fixed all the gremlins I had!

Ever see that Episode of Reba where BJ was talking to the Onstar employee(flirting), and her husband gets in the car and the Onstar wannabe starts messing with the car. Yeah, maybe you have that =)

I agree with Anies that it could be the BCM (Body Control Module). A similar thing happened with my 2004 VUE and replacing the BCM fixed the problem. For me this was not covered under warranty and the repair bill was several hundred dollars. For more forum help on Saturns I highly recommend visiting http://www.saturnfans.com/.

See if there is a fuse underhood for RAP (retained accessory power). Pull the fuse and see if that stops it.

If not, possibly the key cylinder or ignition switch is going out.

The key cylinder/ignition switch wouldn't be at fault. The passlock security system in place interfaces with those parts but its all run through the BCM. Any "ghosting/haunting" in a GM vehicle from 99-05/06 before the newer "models" use this method of security.

I will also mention that my cruise control on the 01 was gone after my 2nd year of ownership. Guess what? Replacing the BCM fixed that too lol. Weirdness. I highly HIGHLY suggest if you want to try the BCM route is BUY IT ONLINE.

The stealership wanted $300+ for the module and several hundred for install. Goto GMPartsdirect and order it yourself like we did. Was $108 shipped.

Ask your dealer(as some are picky) if you can bring in the old BCM with the new one and have them flash it that way(cheaper) or you may have to bring the car in pending the model/year. The bill was $260 for the car being brought in and removal/install of the new BCM.

I will say that the BCM is only held in by 3 to 4 screws and is under the center console/tucked in by the gas/brake pedal area on W-Body's. And I still ponder why 5 minutes of removal/install costs $260 and the flash takes 10 minutes..
