Came with the ubuntu stickers already attached. No SASE necessary.

That is where my next computer is coming from. Don't need any right now.

Well, the problem with that is I've purchased a number of used Dells from a reseller, GX260, Latitude 620; Just search the web and you see "capacitors will eventually fail on all GX260s", NVIDIA graphics soldering eventually fail on all 620s

Dell 'can make' a good machine, but it is obvious they don't always do; it is hit or miss. I've had 2 MB replacements in my E64something lattitude @ work.

System76 takes individual components from reputable companies and assembles them for you. The only comparable machine I've purchased in build quality if an IBM Intellistation (still using) Pentium 4. It is not commodity HW.

There is a place for commodity HW, it just isn't in my house; I usually only purchase new HW when there is a B/F issue, so buying equipment that lasts is one of my top priorities.

You're paying for the work to be pre-done; and you're also "voting" for F/LOSS with your $. If neither of those things hold value to you, don't buy one - I haven't.

Don't forget that s76 hardware works with linux out of the box, no messing around with blacklist.conf or enabling windows drivers for wireless to work.

sys76=100% linux compatible.
