He has been going down hill for about 6 months. He got an eye infection and nothing the vet did helped. He also ate like a horse but lost weight.

He was a great mouser and waited for me to come home and feed him. He ate a lot considering that he was missing lots of teeth for the last 15 years or so. He will be missed.

5/13/93-11/19/22. He lived 29.5 years.

I wanted to add him to the wiki with the oldest cats but can't figure out how to do that yet.

Although any loss of a pet is bad, having a cat for 29.5 years counts as a blessing, especially if 29 of those years were relatively healthy.

I'm so not over the dissapearance of my cat, not ready to bond with another. that sucks. I wish you won't have that problem.

29+ years is a heckuva run. Still, it's a painful shock to the system.

I lost my tuxedo boy last month at only 8 years of age. Large cell lymphoma and it progressed incredibly fast. I've had to put 5 pets down as an adult and it's always tough - but this was the worst for me because he was relatively young and seemed perfectly fine 2 weeks before.

I feel for you and your family. I had to bury my cat a couple months ago, died a day or two before his 20th birthday.
We've had cats or the last 35 years but not ready for another quite yet.

Sorry to hear about your loss. I have been in the same situation many times as I am a cat lover. Just adopted a new kitten last week. Condolences.
