Did my oil change today took 3 hours. 3,308 miles,on old 2005 amsoil 5w30 xl I put in,with a pure one filter.4 months too accumulate the mileage. Oil was pitch black coming out. I drained for about 25 minutes, then flushed with Napa 10w30 conventional and a supertech filter. Rani it for about 25 minutes, let it cool 30 minutes, drained, and refilled with Napa 10w30 synthetic and ac Delco gold oil filter.
Cut them all open.no tears in the pure one, just some wide pleating one side.
I used a stp intake cleaner before draining original oil. Saw vid from that whacky guy on YouTube, puts microcamera intake .Nate's interactive auto? Shirt blonde hair, blonde beard.stp cleaned up intake on a car, very good,so wanted too try it. Hence,,the Napa as a flush.

Your engine is port injected so the intake valves were probably pretty clean to begin with. Nate has “tested” a bunch of different intake valve cleaners on the same GDI Hyundai and I swear he uses the same footage of the intake valves on every video because I can’t see any difference. He’s a more boring version of Scotty (in my opinion)

The score is the supertech. Nice looking filter but I'm not a fan of ecore.plus, you got molecules now of plastic going through the engine

If it floats your boat then sail on. But the engine is port injected so the gasoline cleans the valves as it gets sprayed over it and there's probably gonna be next to no deposits in a non turbo or gdi engine like that with those low intervals and decent oil.

Does the LeSabre have the 3800?
Yes it was the only option in '98. I could see the STP cleaner getting a little deposits off the throttle body, and the intake manifold where it doesn't really matter (how little builds up on these engines) but yeah, the valves on that shouldn't need much attention.

I’m going to disagree on plastic going thru engine. Only way that happens if filter fails or e core cage comes apart. I personally like the E CORE design as I’ve cut hundreds of them that had 0 issues

Thanks for cut and posts 🍻🇺🇸🇨🇦
