I just became the owner of this 2018 Goldwing DCT Tour. The bike had one owner who rode it for 6792 miles. Only problem, it's in TX and I'm in OH, and it's January. I will have to wait for good enough weather to ride it home, but fortunately the dealership will store it at no charge for as long as I need. I am also considering shipping the bike here. If I can have it shipped for close to what it would cost me to fly, or drive a rental vehicle one way, and two nights (at least) stay in a motel, I would do it. That would also eliminate waiting for weeks to get my new (to me) bike. Shipping it may be worth a little more for this very reason...

that's the best color and that DCT trans is supposed to be fantastic...congrats, I'm very envious! You probably bought it right, too, with a few miles on it vs buying brand new.

I have shipped a couple bikes using https://haulbikes.com/zonemap/ There prices are fair and they do a great job.

Your other option my be working with the selling dealer. They may have some connections.

I would not hesitate using haulbikes.com. My guess 4-500 if your flexible, but Texas is big.

Real sweet ride!

The Goldwings are nice bikes.

What happened to your giving up riding? You're certainly free to change your mind, I was just curious what changed your mind?

shipping is prolly similar cost + if not in a hurry some cheaper shippers wait to get a full load or someone going that way, good luck! i had my sidecar shipped for cheep, the shipper farmed it to a small guy, my sidecar + a car in a closed trailer + another bike in his pickup bed!!

Riding is something I've never been able to get out of my system. If the right bike comes along that catches my fancy, it's like a shark drawn to blood! After seeing the seemingly endless number of ride review videos on youtube the hook was set...I haven't even ridden one yet...

Even if it ends up being $100-$200 more to ship than making the trip would cost me, it's probably going to be worth it because 1) who knows when the weather will be nice enough to ride it back and 2) I will have the bike within a couple of weeks instead of possibly months and 3) the bike will be clean when it arrives...I know I will get the bike dirty, but the first time I see it in person it should look its best...

Hey .. hey ... hey now... thought you were giving up riding?? *LOL*

Good luck with it, looks great, think you made a great choice, I would think it would be just as cheap to have it shipped. Its easy to get price quotes and from what I read many very reputable carriers.

Make sure it's reputable, licensed, and insured shipper. An enclosed truck or trailer would be a good idea too.

I know it seems like common sense. But having family and friends in the Motorcycle business, it's amazing how often bikes are shipped with less than ideal results, when those qualifications are overlooked.

Just for an update, my bike is scheduled to be delivered this coming Wednesday or Thursday...I will post more pics, maybe even a video...the sleepless nights begin...
