I found a very cheap set of 3 Uniroyals with highway tread for my 2 wheel drive Chevy Silverado. Needing one more tire out here in the rural area where I live, I found a "Mud Hawg" at a used tire shop that had huge lugs on it. Truck being a 2WD, I put it on the right rear wheel. It looked out of place with three other highway treads on the ground. My wife upon seeing it got that nervous look in her eyes...

I soon learned it is great in the mud, but also excellent in burnouts. Man that thing belches smoke and rubber like crazy when I hammer it. My wife never says a word, but she gets bug eyed and instinctivly grabs the dash when I light that Mud Hawg up. Now, those huge lugs have been reduced to slicks, and inspection is soon due. I gotta find another mudder out there somewhere. Well done, Mud Hawg. It was tortured to death, but what a fun way to go!

Perfect thing to do with used-up tires anyhow. I'll be doing the same thing to my snows once those are used up. Send them out in a stinky, expensive, and hopefully somewhat smoky blaze of glory.

You "cultured folk" up in Middlesex County CT don't know what you are missing!

Some Northeasterners are cultured, and would never dream about doing something like a smoky burnout. Others you'd get along with just fine. We have mud bogs and lots of muddy, dirty pickups roaming about doing truck things up here too.

I guess if spinning a single tire on an old chevy pickup is your idea of entertainment, then so be it. Most would consider it rather immature.

I thought my post would have some entertainment value. I didn't think I would be labled "immature" and "stereotypical" for having a bit of lighthearted fun. I swear I do not know what is wrong with so many here, I think some posters just thrive on name calling and taking shots at others.

Sorry about the post. I didn't mean to OFFEND the delicate sensitivities of whoever might read it.

If burning up tires that cost $500/set and minimizing life out of them is a concept of fun, then I really dont get it. If you have money to burn, send it to me and Ill use it for you. Then again, someone buying three matched tires (dangerous) probably needs to consider how they acquire tires and maintain them.

For the record, the Uniroyals, if you would reread my post, were "very cheap". I got the three for $60 total and they have 50%-60% tread life left. They are not affected by my fun and are still intact on my truck. Only the right rear tire burns out.

The "Mud Hawg" cost a grand total of $25, and I kept it for almost 6 months having fun with. So my "$500 set" you allude to costs me less than $100, and only $25 of that has been sacrificed for fun.

I do not owe you or anyone else apologies for my activities, or my concept of fun. I work hard for my money, I am financially secure, and this makes me laugh and smile and harms no one.

Those who presume to critique me must be MISERABLE inside. I pity you all. BTW, if you happen to see a 2000 Silverado screeching away in a cloud of burnt rubber, it might just be me, deal with it LOL!

Try getting a BFG on Craigslist or just look on craigslist for another tire....I wish you were closer I have a 35" BFG mudder with 20% tread left that I would sell ya cheap
