My MPG on 0w20

So you're one of those rideshare drivers who doesn't keep a/c on year round?
Lol no, air is on. By AC I meant when it is 90+ degrees outside and I am out of Eco mode with AC at full.

Below is a link to my Fuelly account and my 2022 Jeep Gladiator with 3.6L Pentastar. All 165 fuel ups were hand calculated. There is a mix of 0W-20 and 5W-30 oil changes. You will be hard pressed trying to figure out what grade of oil was used when. Couple that with winter blend mix fuel coming in and going out, it is too much of a "chaotic system" as mentioned to parse out what is what.

For extended run times with few cold starts, and the lower rpms that most vehicles run at, oil viscosity isn't as important for mileage.
If you are cold starting often with a 1.6l 4 banger and then driving at 3500rpm at 65mph for 20 minutes twice a day, then a jump from 0W20 to 15W40 would be pretty noticeable for mileage.
I think the extra drag of going from 0W16 to 0W20, in your usage will be undetectable. For Toyota, a 0.5% difference in lab testing is significant, but I think the test cycle they have to use isn't representative of your usage pattern.

at 65 mph, the drag component is bigger, which is multitudes largen than the internal engine friction. I doubt the difference is any more noticeable than in city driving at 12 mph and almost no drag.

Noth worth it. I switched my wife's car from 0w-20 oil to 5w-30 and now 10w-30 and can't tell the difference in fuel mileage. It may be slightly higher but definitely not lower.

At least I'm getting an idea, that whatever the difference is, it is pretty insignificant. Maybe it would be significant if I had a fleet of 50,000 vans lol. If these companies get a credit or penalty then it is significant in their case as they sell millions of these things. In 2024 Toyota sold half a million Rav4s alone with this motor. And the mpg tests that they do must be way more accurate.

Maybe I'm missing something but where is the comparison oil and stats? Seems moot to me.

I will do anything for tips, but seriously AC is not needed. 68 without AC is great, but with AC makes you uncomfortable.
26,000+ rides on Uber, 11,000+ on Lyft. So far so good.
"Let me know if you need anything" 😉

I was joking about the 1 star / no tip. I don't think I've ever given less than 5 stars; I'd rather just not leave a rating at all. As long as I'm not sweating/shivering and disturbing music is not playing and I get there on time, I consider it a fine ride and a great exchange of value for not having to deal with traffic.

Some passengers get lucky when things are slow for me. They order a regular ride expecting a 2012 Prius but they get me lol. While many passengers are fed up with the old Priuses so they order XL for comfort. Those who want a really good ride go for Black or Black SUV. I couldn't do that investment, it is too much money. Plus I do so many other gigs with this van like food, grocery, packages and even auto parts delivery. Things that don't make sense doing with a Cadillac or Lincoln SUV. A minivan is perfect for this business. And it drives and handles like a car and I love that.

And easier to get in and out of it!

There's a guy on UberPeople whose Prius crossed 500,000 miles and he's still driving it. I think that's too much. I don't know how he gets tips if he gets any. That's not the way to do rideshare. That's like Taxis with their check engine lights on and all that crap. If they can't turn a profit they should quit, no need for their crappy service.
