Hey guys, Basically I do all the work on my GF's 2008 altima. It has 52,000 miles. So far I changed the cabin filter (which was a pain) put a k&n air filter in it and i change the oil every 6 thousand miles with mobil 1 5w30 and a wix filter... Im thinking i should do the antifreeze, brake fluid, power steering fluid... does it sound like im doing everything i should? Also can someone please post a link of a Do it your self page on how to do the antifreeze with pictures would be good.. Any thoughts or help would be great, thanks

Sounds great to me.

Look for a drain plug or something else for the coolant. Or else buy a MityVac. I may do that in the spring to do the coolant and brake fluid on the Honda.

I have done all of these things to my '04 Altima(my other cars as well). I don't know where the PCV is on this Altima. It seems as though I may have to remove the valve cover????????

Might be time for new spark plugs depending on what the OEM was and how hard its been driven.

Also a fuel filter change could be due for.

Cleaning the MAF sensor with MAF cleaner is a good idea especially with the oil impregnated K&N on the car which has been known in some examples to mess with the MAF.

If it has the Nissan blue coolant, then the coolant doesn't need to be done until 10 years or 120k+.

Brake fluid should be done every 2 years or 30k. Starting with the 2011 models this is now a required service.

For the CVT, I would drain and refill it with NS-2 from the dealer.

Brake fluid is hygroscopic, meaning it will absorb moisture/water which will play havoc with the ABS system for starters. It will also inhibit rust in the system.

Most people DO neglect their brake fluid, but it doesn't mean it should be.
