in my '95 Civic. Vehicle has 99,000+ miles on the clock.
Sheesh, a low mileage gem indeed. I don't know what the average is for a 95 Civic but I'll bet there's many with easily more than double or triple that. My daughter's is an 01 with 124k, purchased in Oct 02. Still running well, with the timing belt/water pump done last summer. Never used Auto-Rx though, just regular oil/filter changes and maintenance. Still, it looks good inside the oil fill hole though.

You will get 500K miles out of your car with just regular maintenance, its a HONDA !!!
If that's true, with the same average mileage, this 95 Civic could still be running in the year 2065.

A little off topic, but something to think about.

It would have about 827,000+ miles in 2065 if I drive it about 13,000 miles per year between now and when I turn 105. Yep, given regular PM it should outlast me!!!

I was calculating based on the 7k+ per year it has averaged since 95. Now, if you up it to 13k a year from this point you would hit 500k by the year 2040.

In any case, here's wishing good luck and many more happy, safe miles. If you care enough to use ARX I'm sure it's well cared for.

Just curious what your OCI (excluding ARX treatments) has been, and does it consume any oil?

Thank you very much for the best wishes. I would indeed not be surprised at all if the car ran longer than myself; that's one reason I bought it- Honda's reputation for reliability which it has most certainly proven thus far.

My average OCI for the Civic runs about 6500 miles or so, using AMSOIL ASL 5W-30 at first and now HDD 5W-30 for the past 18 months or so. The Civic uses absolutely ZERO oil, in fact I've had the level creep up a bit from topping off the LC20 every 1000 miles or so in it with 1.5 to 2 ounces. It used to use a pint or so every 4000 miles but it dropped to zero after the first ARX'ing back in 2005 and has pretty much remained there. It might drop an ever-so-slight tad now but if it does it is truly de minimis.

What do the filters look like? Have you cut one open to see what they contain? After all, a dipstick....is just a dipstick.

Turbo Diesel Truck is/was Delvac 1, not T&SUV.

Not anymore they're aren't!

I'd pull the valve cover and check out the innards and valve clearance, if there isn't a bigger killer of Hondas besides broken T-belts and overheating, it's tight valves.

T&SUV was D1 pre-Katrina. They were trying to unload excess capacity for the product in a new market. Post Katrina they never brought D1 back as T&SUV ..but apparently (an opinion) got enough attention out of the name. D1 then returned as Truck and Turbo Diesel ..at much higher cost than when D1 was offered as T&SUV.

Per UOA, additive levels of T&SUV 5W-40 varied considerably from each other and from D1 the three times I had T&SUV analyzed (all before Katrina).

This was verified by XOM people.

How many D1 VOA did you compare it to?

T&SUV 5w-40 came into short supply (NONE) along with D1 (limited) as a result of Katrina.

The DX, with the D15B7 engine.

I haven't cracked open any of the ARX'd filters yet but maybe this time I will, who knows...

Gary, feel free to use the BITOG search engine and see what circumstantial evidence was posted on BITIOG about D1 and T&SUV being identical or just similar (before Katrina). Looking at my and a friend's UOAs, the additive numbers between 2003 and 2005 (manufactured before Katrina) do not match even very closely between various batches of T&SUV.

Are you still on about that? The answer would be yes, it used to be printed in plain English in the FAQ section on their web site that T&SUV was the same as D1 with a different label.

Got a copy? From the discussions back then I remember various claims and opinions.
