You're welcome. The 327 was a better balanced car, but there's nuthin' like the sound of the 427 through headers and turbos...
2nd gear is flat-out fun, off idle all the way to redline.

I love the stock wheels.
I have 2 sets. The original 15x7 Ralleye stockers, a 1 year only wheel. A set of 16x8 Chrome Wheel Vintiques with 255/50/15 Comp TA rubber. The 50 series tires make it sit just right, IMO. You are looking at the stockers. My BIL is a sticler for originality.

What's the tire size on those stock wheels if you don't mind me asking?

In 1968 you got F70-15 bias ply rubber, I believe. The BFG Radial TAs in the pic are 235/70/15 as I recall. Pretty close to the original size back then.
They have no chance against the L36 torque. Plus, they are getting pretty old now.

In 1967, you got 7:75-15 on 15x6 Ralleye Wheels. That was the 1st year of the beautiful Ralleye. The 68 15x7 was a common swap for the 63-67 cars with their small wheel wells.

This one’s mine. It’s the rare manual transmission version. It’s not fancy, but I don’t have a ton of money for a nice ride. BUT, I do love the thing. Had it for 14 years, and it has never let me down.

I value the thing mostly because a manual transmission minivan is fun, and also a unicorn.

My favorite design of them all. To me a beauty in just about any color. I know you likely take it out to keep the juices flowing once in a while. I hope when you do, on occasion you mash the pedal and come close to burying the speed-o! Blow the carbon out and hold on to your cap/hat! :D

Years ago I asked my BIL, who lives in Gig Harbor, WA to come and get the car. It took up garage space and I had no time to finish it. Paint and mechanicals were done; it needed a new top and to finish the interior. I had purchased most of the materials, including the new soft top. Mark is a true craftsman and he has room.

Mark's 62 Fuelie Show winner; big bucks in this one... He got it as a basket.

One more; she's a looker! I call her my Plain Jane L36 Roadster because it is a low optioned car. L36 427, AMFM Stereo (rare back then) are the only options I know of. has 3:36 Posi which I replaced with an Auborn unit, wide ratio Muncie.

I put a nice set of Hedman headers, 2.5" pipes and turbos out the back to let the BB Chevy breathe. Sound is just right.
