Noticed on our way back from Dallas the dressed coolant smell at the front on the car. Checked and reservoir was almost dry. Noticed the smell a few days ago and was only slightly low. No leaks on pavement or underneath. Checked the oil, spot on. Has been since oil change. It is about time for a drain/fill.

Not sure what it could be. The smell is only at the front not the engine. I will say that we hit something in the road back in April and it did bent the radiator, can't believe it didn't crack but we haven't had any issies with it using or leaking.

Where would you all recommend I check or a leak.

My gf`s 07 V6 Mustang leaks a tiny bit of coolant from the thermosatat housing. It`s hard to see,but it`s there. Check that on your Mustang and see if that`s where you`re loosing coolant.

I'd start with the obvious - the radiator. Surprised it didn't take out the AC condenser too as that's in front of the radiator.

Common to leak at the tstat housing, easy fix. Ford says to use distilled water or you'll be doing it again. Minerals in the water attack the plastic housing.

About a month ago I learned this the hard way. My Z overheated on the highway. My radiator cracked and she leaked all her coolant. I too noticed a slight coolant smell before that happened.

On my 99 Tracer(R.I.P.) it was a broken plastic neck on the radiator tank that the upper hose attaches to. I noticed af on top of the transmission using an led flashlight.

Thanks, I checked the t-stat housing and bone dry. Once the engine cools down I will check all the hoses. Went all over the radiator area with led light and found no leakage what so ever. Fist time I've had a vehicle where this has been the case. So going to shop Monday, just don't have time to mess with it.

Lol, can't help what you marry into sometimes. Not just the mother in law in my case.

Got under it again today and now I can see it. Coming fm under the water pump and dripping down the front of oil pan. Wasn't there last Monday when I changed the oil. Not sure what the average life is on a water pump for these engines but bummer. There goes a few hundred.

O ya those leak too. Replace the little hose from the t-stat housing to the water pump also, I thing the p/n is F77Z-8548-AF, but I am going off of memory on that. The water pump p/n should be 6L2Z-8501-A, not sure what the Motorcraft short number is, because we don't use that in our inventory and billing.

Thanks for the info, I appreciate it. At least I have an excuse to go ahead and flush the coolant and add fresh G-05
