It's also interesting to note that Valvoline cannot reccomend their Maxlife ATF in California where it does not meet viscosity requirements of the recommended application.

I venture to say the bureaucrats in CA know little about ATF chemistry.

Here’s what I think:

There is a huge difference between mechanical / mechanical industrial research, vs what this video is about which is more based on social political research which at times can be basically pseudo science that is politically influenced. SAE studies about fluids / lubricants or mechanical devices are not going to be based on some abstract science that is open to someones belief structure or feelings. In the mechanical engineering world there is none of that.
