Recently purchased a 6 pack of PG EX and a 12 pack case of MSL for very good price on eBay. Both of these filters are recommended for GM 5.3/ 6.2 V8s. I did notice the PG is about 1/4 inch shorter. However the PG baseplate has more holes. Does this make the filter any better than MSL? The grip paint seems to be slightly better and more consistent on the PG. MSL made in china. The bypass springs are different but both are the poppet style vs leaf on other brands. PGI made in Vietnam. Anyways I’ll be using both filters for several years to come. Really hard to resist dirt cheap prices on eBay. If anyone’s wondering there is still one more case of the MSL for $59 shipped. Their is a couple of the PG as well for around $30. No more leaky champ labs amsoil or Fram FE for me.

Was the seller bradinkc? Bought a case yesterday off of there. I’ve bought a few cases off of that seller.

Highly doubt the dP difference across the whole filter between the two is anything to be concerned about. The dP difference just from the base plate hole difference it splitting hairs when a PD oil pump is involved.

If the PG was made in China it would probably be the same filter. Perhaps we're just seeing some variation between the COO's but performance is the same. Vietnam built would be my preference though but the MG Select is still a good filter. If you can c&p when you use them and perhaps cross link them for comparison. $5 a filter is a very good deal for these. Thanks for sharing.
