Moving to Tennessee

Vacationed many times in the Smoky Mountains as a child and also as a adult taking my kids there. Always loved breakfast at the Pancake Pantry in Gatlinburg. Love Eastern Tenn. Best of luck to you and your family.

1) The morning we left Western Carolina (visiting friends), we watched news footage of mountain roads collapsing in Eastern Tennessee due to Hurricane Floyd.
2) My brother married a girl who was from Tennessee.
3) I'm likely the only person you'll ever meet who woke up in Hendersonville, NC and went to bed in Hendersonville, TN in the same day!
Best of luck with your move and the next chapter...and all that.
Go visit Scotty Kilmer if you're so inclined.

You'll be able to go get your Bush's beans straight off the line while the cans are still warm. Safe travels and good luck with the move. Read the Scott Pratt novels based around Knoxville when you get a chance.
My house will be about 5 miles from the plant

My happiest childhood days were on my grandfather's farm in western Massachusetts. At age 50, after a miserable time in Northern New Jersey, I prepared to move back. But it had changed. From 35 dairy farms, there was now just one. All the people I once knew either died, moved away, or changed.

So, I went to southern Vermont. A great place to drive a Corvette without traffic or traffic lights.

Congrats. I assume you are aware of the '4 seasons in a week' weather we have here sometimes. Just like this week...started off with 20's lows and going to end up nearly 80's high by the end of it...crazy.

When I worked for the feds, I had to visit the Oakridge Nuclear Plant often. Staying in Knoxville was wonderful. I really like that state.
