I'm not trying to be obtuse but if you're comparing the truck you've got mentioned in your sig with what I think is a turbo boosted 4 cylinder that's been tuned so we can guess that the fuel map will be much richer than stock as well as a turbo,so they aren't really apples to apples.
More boost with an enriched fuel map is inevitably going to increase blow-by into the crankcase, and with that is increased fuel dilution, couple that with a turbo which will heat the oil up real fast while under boost its safe to assume the oil is being more stressed, and more prone to shearing.
I think overkill's suggestion of Mobil 1 0w-40 is a prudent one,and on second thought I think its a better idea than my previous suggestions,German castrol isn't a bad idea either if Mobil 1 isn't easily acquired.
It's proven itself in a countless engines.its a 40 grade which allows a bit of headroom in the event of oil temp elevation and fuel dilution. Its a known performer as far as keeping engines clean and deposit control and its easy to get.
I like Amsoil and I used it for years,I'm not knocking the product however getting it can be an issue for some and I feel that in the OP's application there might be a better choice.
In this particular application anyways. But that's just my opinion based on the conditions presented. In the op's application going up a grade isn't a bad idea if he runs the car hard on occasion.

Why does everyone assume that a tuned Subaru is running rich. With a proper tune you are running closer to stoichiometric ideal than the stock tune or even say a Cobb ots tune. That's the whole point of a custom tune.

The OP didn't confirm the type of tune either.
