Mouse trap season is here, in the Midwest In your experience, which is better for baiting traps... Peanut Butter or Nutella?

Peanut butter, they can't stay away from it. Use the sticky rat traps, because mice can't drag them away, but they can drag the smaller sticky mouse traps. It only takes a small amount of peanut butter, about the size of a dime, if you put much more on a mouse can thrash around and get enough peanut butter on themselves that they can eventually get out of the trap. I've learned this from experience, now you don't have to. :)

Teamwork or the second mouse gets the cheese?

I've used a mixture with success. PB is good and a mix, I've found, is best. Nutella alone didn't do it for me.

Believe it or not out of date Mayo works great too.

Peanut butter, but I put breadcrumbs onthe peanut butter as it seems like it attracts them better.

I managed to catch mice in a trap baited with little pieces of Kraft Singles. I frankly didn't have anything else suitable at the time, and I was surprised it worked.

However, I've heard of some traps that were pre-baited with artificial strawberry scent. Not sure if that's the best but maybe strawberry jam or different types of jelly or preserves.

Another thing is to be light on the amount of bait. If it's kind of thick it might be possible for the rodent to take a little piece off without putting enough pressure on the catch to trigger it. But if a mouse has to scrape hard that should trigger the trap.
