I was just in a carquest looking around and found this new additive which says good for 100,000 miles read some on packaging made up of boron and zinc any one here of this

Hmmmm, boron and zinc. I wonder if the zinc has phosphorus with it? Might be good stuff, would need to know ppms and other major components vs price.

Used it in the 2003 Mercedes CDI we had, think it was back in 2006/07.
Didn't notice so much in the engine, but a UOA showed some changes.
Did notice some improvement in the transmission, though, if I remember right.

Considered how long it is lasting, I think it's worth the money.

I also used their gas and diesel additives without noticing any difference.

Most engine oils already have the proper amount of Boron and ZDDP.

Save your hard-erned money and purchase a good oil.

Or use it, and buy cheaper oil. The choice is yours, if you consider their documentation is good enough.

I always use a good synthetic but I am always looking for an even more edge. I know, OCD of mine

This product was stumbled on/developed at Argonne Labs, next door to me.
It seemed very promising, but not much has come of it.
This lack of response and interest has cooled my enthusiasm for it.
Maybe it is solving a problem that really doesn't exist.

I'd rather use the Redline break in additive at a third of the price at 25% dilutaion rate per 5 quart sump. I don't trust any additive that claims to last 100,000 miles, can't see how that would work.
