motorcycle tires vs scooter tires. ???

I need a front tire for my Buell Blast. 100/80-16. I love the Avon I have on the back. One of the choices from Avon is called a scooter tire. is there really a difference? my buell at 360 lbs, is light than a Suzuki Bergman scooter. does it matter?

Does the load rating index and speed rating index match your factory tire?

A scooter tire doesn't need to "stick" as much in a high speed turn. Don't compromise on your tires! Your life is riding on them.

Since there are scooters that are significantly heavier, faster, and more powerful than the Blast, I'd say so long as load and speed ratings are acceptable it will be fine. The scooter designation is probably based more on the common application for that size than any performance metric. The load and speed rating is a performance metric.

I'm not sure if they fit the blast but the pirelli MT75 are good.

Check the speed rating! Many scoot tires are only good for 75 or 81MPH.

Pretty certain the Blast uses the same size as the '88-'07 Ninja 250. Pirelli MT75s are pretty good

It's my advice to buy the stickiest tire you can afford to run. My SV1000s came with touring tires and, while I ride carefully, I did slide the rear tire around a turn. The problem was that the touring tire, while it lasts forever, does not have good grip at the limit.

As a general rule, performance tires with a compliant, sticky tread often have a much nicer "feel" and "ride" as an added bonus.

MT75 are a super soft tire they are on my ninja 250 and were cheap too! Can't complain about the grip either, but I'm a dirt guy so sliding around doesn't bother me.

The Harley-Davidson branded Dunlops are very good, but the one on my 2007 Street Bob isn't the longest lasting tire out there. Very sticky for what I use it for, though.

The best tires I've ever bought were Heidenau. They are German made, super sticky, and have a long wear life for such a high performance tire. It's the only tire I buy today for my bikes. For me, nothing comes close.

They make your size in K63 and K66 model upon a quick search. Maybe more models as well.
