Motorcraft unavailable.Mobil 1 a good option?

I own a 2011 Ford Ranger 4.0 V6.It has almost 24k on it and I have used Motorcraft semi synthetic
5 w 30 in it exclusively.However,today I was unable to purchase Motorcraft and opted for Mobil 1 instead.Is this a good option?

Oh yeah Mobil 1 is definitely top tier. Their vanilla 5w30 has some of the best cold flow properties of any 5w30 which may come in handy in Minnesota

If you have used the Motorcraft Semi Synthetic and liked it, try to find some Phillips Troparctic. More similarities than differences between the two.
However, nothing wrong with M1.

If I do extend OCI up to 18-20k miles I would use Mobil 1, no possible way Motorcraft semi synthetic will be able to do that.

Mobil 1 is the only oil I will use in my Ford Crown Vic. The Motorcraft is a good oil too, but in my opinion the Mobil 1 is superior all around.

Stay with the Mobil 1 for the life of your truck.

This is a bit like asking whether the French stuff you bought will be okay, since you couldn't find any Gallo.
M1 is the superior oil as compared to Motorcraft SB, although the Motorcraft is plenty good and will in no way compromise the life of your engine.
Use either with complete confidence.

OK,I switched from Motocraft to Mobil 1 and I also installed a NAPA Gold oil filter.What should my OCI be?

Wouldn't hesitate to use M1 in my Acura or Mitsubishi. Huge fan of M1!

10K OCIs are my normal for my Fords with Mobil 1 oils.

You didn't say which Mobil 1 oil or how you drive. 10,000 miles would be the stock answer for your basic Mobil 1, provided you do not hit the "severe service" definitions in your owners manual. Cut that in half if you do a lot of towing or drive in extremely dusty conditions. If in doubt you could always send out a sample for used oil analysis.

BTW - hats off to the guy who made the Gallo to French wine analogy.

Mobil 1>Motorcraft. Look at the most recent used oil analysis. Mobil 1 is turning out the best numbers.

Sorry I wasn't more specific.Yes,I am using the basic vanilla M1.Napa Gold filter,no severe conditions.
