That's the first time I've heard that. Not saying it's not true, just saying that's pretty interesting that Purolator is more of a filter "assembler" for Ford. I didn't know that the media was different from other Purolators, and certainly didn't know that Ford actually supplies to the media to Purolator.

Neat!

The FL-1A is what my owners manual calls for. I take that back. It calls for D9AZ-6731-A which translates to the FL-1A. It gets Job #1 Done.

I ask only five things from an oil filter:

1. filter the oil
2. don't explode
3. don't fall off
4. don't let your insides get sucked up in the engine
5. be the right size for the application

FL-1A does just that. Done. /thread

I did a search. Didn't want to start a new thread so this came
up. I use oversized filters on my Ram. I noticed today how
cheap the FL-1A is priced 3.67 at Wallyworld. I also noticed
that they seem to be well built (from the opened ones I've
seen).
Does anyone here use them on their Hemis?

i use the motorcraft 820s but i dont like the threads on the base where it screws onto the engine...they seem to have very very few threads
