Around here, the only people that stock Kendall lubes are car dealers, repair shops, etc. that probably buy drums of oil. I never see Kendall on the shelf in common retail locations.
...sorry, a bit off the original topic, I know.
Maybe where you live. I`ve found Walmart to be the cheapest place to buy oil (due to the fact that there`s always at least one or two of the major leading brands rolled back considerably lower than the rest). Oil pricing seems to fluctuate by region, at least as far as Walmart goes.
My last trip, the cheapest major brand oils (because they were the rollbacks) within their classifications were:
Castrol GTX at $11;
Castrol Edge at $28;
Pennzoil Platinum at $19.
Those were 4 or 4.4L jugs.
All prices are Canadian, and for comparison numbers the other dinos (with the exception of Supertech, which was rolled back to just under $8) started at about $18 for Dino, and the other synthetics started at $28 for Supertech, with the rest(excluding Edge) being priced between about $32 and $40.
All of the oils you listed as `the best bang` for the buck were more than the roll backed oils I listed above. And having noticed that the Walmart here tends to alternate between Castrol GTX and Valvoline Premium as the daily rollback (both available then for $11 if you wait a couple weeks tops), I have to ask:
What makes any of the more expensive oils you listed above better bang for the buck than Pennzoil Premium ($19 that day and it`ll be $19 again), GTX ($11), Valvoline Premium ($11 again within another week or 2), or Castrol Edge ($28).
Or is that just your opinion with absolutely nothing concrete to base it on. And if that`s the case, how is that even worth the time it took to read it and why do I care.
