Ford calls 5W-20 Motorcraft Synthetic blend in the US but in Canada they call it 5W-20 Motorcraft Super Premium is it because they can't call a Gr III oil synthetic in Canada or do they have a different oil for each country.

Motorcraft in the US is made by Conoco-Phillips, and it IS a synthetic blend oil.

In Canada, I've read that MC oil is made by Esso (Imperial Oil), and is basically just 5W-20 Esso Protec. Unfortunately, two different oils....

Ford's branded oil products in Canada are all produced by Imperial Oil Limited (ExxonMobil) in Sarnia, ON.

The 5W-20 is the same as Esso Extra or Mobil Super 1000. The 15W-40 is the CJ-4 version of XD-3.
