Can someone tell who make motorcraft F820 filters, I went to advantage auto and open box's of different oil filters and looked at the bottom of the base plate and Mobil 1 filters look like the factory filter that came off my truck, but not like the replacement 820MC that I put on it?

The filters are built by purolator. Great filters and tons of info on this site about them.
To be clear that part number is made by Purolator most of the time. Ford uses whoever is the cheapest that will build to their specification. Also they don't tell us parts people who the vendors are for most of the parts, although we can figure it out by where they ship from or where they go when replaced parts are called back under the warranty program.

Please correct the OP on where to ask the question about oil filters. I would like to know as well because this is the OIL FILTER section!

Considering he mentioned that he can get the 820S racing filter for $10.00, I'd say that's the "best" filter for this application. That's a good price on it, too. I wouldn't say it's the best value, mind you--but I would say it's the best.

Motorcraft filters are one of the best in their price range. I use them on my Fords and Chryslers.
