The Honda timing Belts are made by Gates and so are a lot of the others including a/c Delco timing belts we use often at my shop

I had a ford ranger that I went ahead and replaced the battery at 4 years. Maybe 4.5 years and the guy at the auto parts store thought I was nuts. Battery wasn't bad, but I wanted to replace it at my convenience. I don't think a ford ranger is hard on a battery though. The truck I have now I put duralast golds in them and barely made it to three years. I got two new batteries under warranty for like 80 bucks so I guess you can't beat that.

I have long since outgrown the name brand is better thing. I have hauled a lot of stuff in and out of Deka/East Penn, Exide, and JC battery plants and seen their lines in operation. If one gets a no name compared to a brand name, and the specs on CCA, type, and such are the same, they will generally be the same battery. They don't set up different assembly lines to cater to each brand of battery they are producing for, only the style (like plate, glass mat, etc) that they are making. In the trucking community, a lot of folks swear by Caterpillar batteries. They are the same battery, made by Deka/East Penn, as any other truck battery coming off D/EP line.

All my vehicles take that battery. I get avg 8 yrs form the MC TTM battery. When I brought it to a motorcraft Jobber for a core and it had a date 9 years in the past he wasn't at all surprised.
