You know it can't be bad when they sell synthetic blend oils.

Roller lifters won't roll on camshaft because of the too slippery synthetic oil, the lifters will flat spot and fail ruining the engine.

When asked about the difference between the two:

"Mobil Delvac is for transports (pointing at the label), buy Rotella for your truck"

That would mean an instant oil change, just after an oil change on 6.5 diesels!
You start it once and the oil is black already...

Mentioned to me by an Autozone cashier - 0W20,0W30 and 0W40 are way too thin to run in older vehicles.

And the classic xw-30/40 is way too thick to run in new vehicles.

I find it almost hard to believe that "pure" vs "faux" synthetic mindset still is out there. Do these folks actually take a look at qualities of various base oils? This isn't the 1970's anymore. And unlike the common misconception, PAO synthetics are made from natural gas, at lest from the ethylene derived from natural gas, and that natural gas might have come from the same well as crude oil came from. If I am paying too much for something that isn't going to benefit me in any appreciable way, then I am getting ripped off. And many PAO only base oil products fall into that category. I am quite comfortable with GTL base oils and many Group III synthetics from crude. In fact, I primarily use motor oils that are a combination of Group III and Group IV PAO synthetics. Each one brings special features to the party.

If you run a toilet paper oil filter, you will never have to change your oil

Does anyone remember "Lub-A-Sil" ... Small glass bottles of thin silicone oil to add to you crankcase. I did that back in '69 and it bucked and snorted it's way home for an hour, then ran sweet as candy

I guess it was a little too aggressive at loosening stuff ... But that old motor came out of my car and went in a pure stock 1/4 mile dirt car and made two seasons

I started using a special oil for my diesel engines. All of the other ones turned black before I even left my driveway.
