Okay, I know as a Canadian, I shouldn't be 'cheering' this, but I looked at a Motomaster filter in CT the other day. It says 'made in the US' on the box.

I know they used to be made in Canada, and that Fram then shut down the plant that made them.

I'm just really glad the the manufacturing didn't go to China or somewhere else oversees - I have no problem supporting American manufacturing!

Nice.
I don't know if they shut down more than one plant, but one of them for sure was in Stratford, ON. (where I work)
Some people here used to work there.

The only one that's really bugging me right now is Electromotive. That is just brutal. Some stores and other places in London are banning Caterpillar sales and taking stuff off the shelves.

Great! Our RCOD are still made in North America!

Seriously, that is good to hear. Did you happen to look at the baseplate? Still like that red too!

Yeah, it would be nice if everyone boycotted Catepiller, like not allow Cat construction equipment on a site boycotted.
In hindsight though, the union should've accepted the deal just to mess with Cat's plans to move production, and sabotoge production for a few months or years. I'm sure many guys there would know what would pass inspection at the plant but fail and stop an engine in a year or two. Also its better get $15/hour while looking for a decent job than $0...

Those filters went to Champ. It's awful that the Fram plant had to shut down, but the filters are being made stateside.

So not a standard Fram design anymore? Going to standard champ design, or ecore? I'll have to check them out next time I'm there.

AFAIK, still standard Fram design - pic on the box is the exact same, fibreboard end-caps....claims syn-blend media, tho...
