Just wanted to know for fun what spec is the best to look for, if there even are any stringent specs for HDEO. I have read that VDS 4.5 is kinda stringent but every 15W-40 dino oil meets so that hard cant it be.

Regards

Nobody knows because not all of the requirements for every bench test for every approval is public information.

It's not the question you intended to ask, but perhaps some of the ACEA C and E categories. Dexos D?

Otherwise, maybe add Cummins 86 and Ford F1 to the list.

Lots of modern fleet engines out there require the Volvo 4.5 spec. The volume blenders would be pretty silly not to carry that cert. "Every oil meeting it" is more of a function of market than it being a low bar to meet.

Ford F1 on the hand is a smaller audience and individual bro truck buyers. (Some fleet too, I'm aware.)

Yeah, the Volvo spec 4.5 is a good testing parameter. OEM's may have slightly different requirements to meet but that just means you find an oil that either meets your spec or meets several OEM specs. There are a bunch of CK-4 oils that meet all or most of the HD engine requirements so I don't think you can go wrong by picking a common oil off the shelf like Rotella T6 or Mobile Delvac.

HDEO to me is semi truck, no some light duty diesels in American trucks

HDEO is NOT a "Semi Truck". It's a type of heavy duty oil designed to provide protection for hard working engines that also cover commercial truck OEM's.
Light duty diesels don’t even count, a small 6L v8 that goes to Walmart isn’t even in the question.
I think you need to accept what @BMWTurboDzl is stating.

no american diesel is working hard, even your semis dont pull half of our weights. i want to know real engine oil specs, no whatever ford, chevy and dodge are doing. Want to know what cat, Volvo, scania, detroit. Not a powerstroke going to wallmart.

Come on now. GVWR maximum in Alberta is 53500kg. Sweden is 64000kg.

IT's not relevant because your weights are dictated by your small rural population. In any case in the US they still spec HDEO oils. The same HDEO oils which are used in heavy equipment (Earth Movers)

Well, over here in bald eagle freedom land, those Mickey Mouse euro derived diesels carry the more stringent specs, which is what you asked.

How many Scanias do you own? Looking out my driveway I can see four “light duty” diesel pickups of >400 hp each. They’re more common here than VW golf’s in your neck of the woods. Freedommobiles. George Washington himself crossed the Potomac in a deleted, second gen swapped Cummins megacab.

And our semis have two axles in the back because they’re heavy duty.

Does amsoil ship do euro continent?

You should leave the humor to the professionals.
He's Swedish. I worked in Gothenburg over the winter of 95-96. Plenty of highly skilled professionals there but humor wasn't one of the skills most possessed. Unless, of course, there was copious amounts of fire water consumed but then we all think we're comedians.
