Only if it is not a 5.3. There is a common enough theme from 07-11 5.3's with excessive oil consumption and lifter problems with the 5.3's from the chevy owners sites. I would avoid that engine with AFM. If you are talking about the rest of GM's engine I can buy that.

When you buy a 3/4 ton and up truck I don't think MPG is your first concern. For me it was "How well will it tow this trailer that I have"

You are right very few on 10's and up for oil consumption. But there are more complaints on lifters being replaced on 10+11's.
