I used to roast coffee with a Toper roaster so I had a lot of experience with different coffees from around the world...

So...

I wait until I can get Folgers in the 1kg tins for under 6$.

The trick with coffee is setting up the night before and setting a TIMER so it automatically starts brewing 10 mins before you wake up.

That, folks, is the key to perfect coffee.

Nah, nothing beats a dark roast sumatra, black. Folgers has nothing on that.

Morning starts around 5:00. After brushing, a big glass of water followed up by a physical workout starts the day. The workout consists of a walk or jog with the dogs on the bike trail (weather permitting) or an hour or so on my Bowflex if it's actively raining or the trail is drifted with snow.

After that, a couple times a week I may have a cup or two of coffee with breakfast, but I don't make it a daily habit.

There's no better way to start the day than with a brisk workout before the sun comes up.

Water? I have no need for those drinks to get me up, fortunately. Id hate to be addicted to caffeine or anything else.

I will on occasion have an iced coffee with lunch or a cup of coffee in the afternoon, because it is easy to get tired after so long. But it amounts to maybe once a month, if that. A brisk walk is a better bet.

Depending upon what you read, coffee may have antioxidants and whatnot in it that are pretty good for you. I might consider drinking a little with a bit more regularity (I just take it with milk, no sugar) if there is a bona-fide benefit in that regard. But I fear very much being reliant on any substance, or getting a withdrawal headache type thing from not "getting my caffeine". No thanks.

The bona-fide benefit of coffee for me is that caffeine and naproxen sodium are the only things (in combination) that keep my migraines at bay. Been that way for the past 26 years. Tea is an arguably healthier way to get my caffeine, but the arguments are tenuous and if I order right at Starbucks, it's heavy enough to count as breakfast.

I cannot handle caffeine. It makes me to nervous and gives me anxiety. I usually just start off with a little Greek yogurt with some fruit and protein powder turned into a shake.

Ive heard that about caffeine, but Ive also heard the opposite - withdrawl headaches will occur, so you get a migraine-ish headache from the caffeine hangover...

Morning booster for more than 30-40 years: coffee and now cappuccino.

Cappuccino may sound like expensive drink but it is about the cost of coffee and milk, the only problem is it takes a couple minutes extra to frosting the milk.

Splenda is no better than what you list above, its highly toxic and very acidic to your system.

I'm drinking my first cup of the day. Ground Melita. Black. Lately, on weekend mornings, I will top the 1st cup off with a tot of dark rum. My weekday mornings start the evening before. I rig the pot for 8-12 cups set for 6 am. I also make my daily ration of 3 PBJ s On my way out the door, I pour the coffee into a travel mug and thermos. I grab the PBJs and 2 bananas. My nicotine jones is currently placated by Chantix. The classic Andy AM ritual started with a hand rolled Bugler. When the first heavenly drag was answered by a series of barking coughs to clear my lungs, and the coughing left me dizzy, I decided to quit for the umpteenth jillioneth time.

I have tried to cut down on sugar in my daily routine. next is gonna be fats.

proof of toxicity? It keeps me skinny while they get fat on empty calories.
