You just don't get it SKUNKY: Some don't have a life outside of under-the-hood. So with nothing in our lives to better spend time on or with, we choose to calculate and plot and plan and do all sorts of stuff to pass the miserable time. ha ha

Your right Eddie...I'm sorry..I haven't had a beer in a year and a half...I need a beer..but I can't..please just one..no, it's gonna kill you..your right..sorry

I'm just trying to go whatever will make my truck last the longest, and then some. I just applied to the CVM and if I somehow get accepted I'll need to pinch out around $100K so buying another vehicle is out of the question. Oil filters may not be the highest priority for longevity but every bit helps.

Keeping up on your OCIs is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more important than the brand of oil filter you use. Rather than filtering capacity, I would look at the quality of construction. Make sure you aren't buying something that could fall apart. Make sure you aren't extending your oil too far with the occasional UOA and I don't think you have anything to worry about.

4k OCI with dino maxlife 5w30, napa gold oil filter, fram toughguard air filter. All the other fluids/grease are also valvoline synpower changed a bit before the recommended service interval.

Theo only fluid thats not valvoline is the dexcool which is havoline...because it sounds like valvoline.

Well, if it makes you feel any better about the longevity of your truck, the Voyager in my signature has pretty much been run exclusively on Valvoline for it's entire life, save for a handful (5 or less I would guess) of changes where something else was on a sale too good to resist. Most of those changes have been with Maxlife Blend. I have never gone over 5k miles on a change. Filters have been mainly Valvoline earlier on, and lately I have been going with either the Bosch Premium filter from AZ or Napa Gold. None of my used oil analysis have given me anything to worry about, save for the occasional quart of oil burned; typical of the fairly weak valve seals on the 3.0's. It is now in the clean phase of an Auto-RX treatment running a Napa Gold. I plan to run another Napa Gold during the rinse phase, mainly because I can get an oversized one fairly easily as opposed to the Bosch. Granted, not everything will translate over to your Toyota from my Plymouth, but hopefully my point is clear that there are better things to worry about than a couple of microns when you're doing 4K OCIs. I'd say you're fine with your Napa Golds as long as you keep up your maintenance schedule.

.... or you can do 3K OCIs and possibly avoid any Auto-Rx treatments at 200+K. My 94' Chrysler minivan engine is quite clean at 200K ... religious dino 3K OCIs (majority Castrol GTX) intervals using sub-$4 oil filters.

Ive been doing 3k oci's up until now. I finally decided to start doing "extended" 4k oci's. 3k is starting to seem like such a waste of oil, not that 4k is much better, but its a start.

I am not trying to clean up any specific area with Auto-RX. Instead I am hoping it will help me get a handle on the leaks and maybe some of the oil burning. The area under the cam cover looks clean as a whistle. I am just trying to make sure the rest of the engine is, too.

Shouldn't be too much different anywhere else in the engine ..assuming that it saw enough oil flow during the Auto-Rx treatments. Some incidental areas that don't get much flow may have lingering stuff.

And let's not forget Bob's (the oil guy) assertion that flow is more important than filtration and his famous experiment doing an OCI with no oil filter at all!
