I keep getting the calls that my Ford warranty is about to expire.

I'm pretty sure the warranty on my 17 year old truck expired a long time ago

I get those. When I tell them my vehicle is a 1940's Mercedes they hang up on me.

I get calls about Microsoft, I don't answer and block them though I thought one call was from my mom in the hospital and answered it. It was about an expiring MS lease but I lied and told them I don't run any MS at home and we're all on Apple IOS.

Exactly. As soon as you pick up, the computer knows that the number belongs to someone and has a time frame. That info gets shared with other mass marketers.

Expect many more calls.

Until now, I used to answer them just so I could find out who they are and report them to NOMOROBO. I do believe that they've actually gotten worse since I've been doing that, so I think I'll just ignore them from now on.

They keep trying to find me.......

I told the last guy that called about my warranty that I'm a pimp and one of the ladies is using the car and is in Central America with a paying client.

Occasionally, when I get these Microsoft calls, I fire up a Linux machine I built specifically to screw with them. I have customized the layout, wallpaper, icons, etc.. to make it look as much like Windows 7 as possible.

It's fun to watch them cluelessly bumble around in that system trying to figure it out.

One of our Microsoft reps at work got a call from "Microsoft" saying her computer has a virus etc. She's like "Uh, I work for Microsoft, we don't call people like this" and then he's telling her she doesn't work for Microsoft....

I miss those calls informing me I have a virus. I'm looking forward to messing with these clowns.

Dont you guys just block the calls on your phones?
Simple and easy with Android and I assume apple.

In fact, I not only block the number but I block whole exchanges such as 1-877 ect.
If someone from a 1-877 exchange calls me, the phone doesnt ring, they do at that point have the option to leave a message.

Anyway, problem solved.

My boss got someone to hang up on her when they called to tell her that her computer was sending distress signals and she responded "which one? I have 6 in my house."

Personally, I'm waiting to get a live human telling me that the IRS is going to send someone to arrest me. My response will be to ask them how soon can they get here because I need a break from work.

The caller ID is usually faked.

And, yeah, we had one of these calls at 4am on Saturday. By now, you'd think they'd have run out of people stupid enough to fall for them.

Never underestimate the power of human stupidity.

At a previous job, a co-worker use to rant and rave about how stupid some people were, but I pointed out that we wouldn't have a job if there weren't so many stupid people out there.
