Load is gleaned through the MAF meter. Yes, I imagine if the oil was causing excessive drag, you would see more "load", but that is not a cue for it to increase the engine RPM; simply a compensation mechanism to maintain consistency.
The "load" parameter is more relative to you driving along the road, then encountering a hill. Which increases load.
