Modified Hellcat Engine - What Weight Oil

Well, the internals aren’t modified. Running higher boost on E-85. Obviously don’t care about warranty. I’ve been running Amsoil SS 0W-40.

I live in Central Florida. Doesn’t get too cold. What oil and weight would you recommend?

I think your choice is okay. E85 is tough on oil so just change it under severe operation recommended.

Then yeah, the 0W-40 is probably fine still.

I was/am eyeballing 5W-50 but not sure it would be appropriate to run in this motor and in the “winter” here where it gets to a low of 50. Lol

Haven’t put drag radials on it yet. 1st gear is useless. If I take off in 2nd with my Pirelli PZeros, I can pull a 2.6 0-60 and a 10.2 1/4 mile.

I’m leaning towards 5W-50. What’s the coldest I should operate the motor in? The OEM spec is PUP 0W-40.
