I know exactly where that is. Maybe the savings at Menards was worth him wheelchair'ing around 80k lbs trucks.

On a serious note, that section of walkway is outside of anybody's property. There's nobody to really 'blame' for not shoveling that sidewalk and I don't think anybody is going to walk around the entire fenceline to shovel that 600' strip of sidewalk that continues down the majority of 53.

If it’s outside of someone’s property then it’s the city’s responsibility to clear the snow. At least that’s the way it works up here on sidewalks that aren’t in front of homes or businesses

Yes, that was part of my point. It irritates me when people are too lazy to shovel their walks.

I don't know if our statues/laws show responsibility for ambiguous sidewalks like this; but I don't think I've ever seen a city snow removal crew here that removed snow that their plow trucks couldn't get to.

Here's the picture during the summer. The sidewalk is like this for about half a mile before and after this location.

We have smaller plows up here that are just the right size for clearing sidewalks. Every major city has them

That is AWESOME. The property managements in downtown Chicago do a really good job at removing snow and having a layer of salt down on the pavements. We have those here too but reserved for places like walking paths in parks, the courtroom's parking lot, or holding a 55-gal rubbermaid bucket killed with landscape tools but down here I have never seen the city/towns clear any sidewalks.

Wheelchairs are allowed anywhere that a pedestrian is. You can't blame him that the sidewalk is unusable.

Your supposed to walk against traffic - so is he not then on the wrong side also?
