Mobil1 M1-212 cut open

Mobil1 M1 came off my 82 GMC with a 4.8 swap. Was on for 2 intervals for a total of a year in time. Odometer doesn’t work with the swap thus far so unknown mileage. Most likely 3-4000 miles. Engine was swapped in when I bought it so I had no idea of cleanliness. Looks pretty good.

I have a Mobil1 EP filter approaching 5k miles with VRP, and I'd love to open it up. The car has 156k miles, and it's not an oil burner.

Looks good to me, like it got the job done. Including seam pleat area, decent pleat spacing.

Wix Protec. Which I see you’ve had some bad luck with. I grabbed them off Rockauto cheap when ordering a part. I will definitely cut and post it. I’m going to try to spend more time on here again.

If a US made Protec, several recent post use c&p have looked quite good at 6-8k miles. Otoh, the made in Mexico Protec, no bueno. I'd be curious which coo Protec you got?

I was referring to the Protec I put on.

Based on recent c&p, as noted, no beuno. I saw the Protec at RA and wondered where made. Good to know. Like the current Bosch Premium with same coo, best to pass on them.

I’ve found that with this LS swap pan on the 4.8 in my 82 shares the same filter selection as the Edge so I will use them up on the truck. It doesn’t see daily driving or near as many miles. I will cut them all open.
