Submitted this oil sample primarily to check for silicon levels. Bought new, K&N filter replaced OE @ ~7K miles. Vehicle now with 86K miles so 79K miles using an oiled filter. Cleaned and carefully reoiled twice. Vehicle burns zero oil between average 5K oil changes, always 0W-20 various brands. Lots of chatter and opprobrium here directed at K&N. For sure one sample proves nothing, maybe my Outlander is an Outlier or perhaps not.

If you don’t drive in dusty conditions, then perhaps this air filter works perfectly fine in your case.

I personally dislike reusable filters.

Throwing out the factory filter after only 7k miles of use was definitely a waste of money though.
