Now that it's Mobil Super Syn(MSS) is hitting Wal-Mart's shelves at the same $19 price as Quaker State Ultimate Durability, will SOPUS drop their price to regain the low price lead for name brand syns?

Noting like good ol' competition to start a price war! Hopefully.

I doubt that SOPUS will drop the price of Quaker State Ultimate Durability since they are paying the fee to GM for dexos1 certification (and Mobil 1 SuperSyn apparently is not).

"Mobil 1, our line of advanced full synthetics, uses the latest in additive and base oil technologies for ultimate performance and protection. Mobil Super Synthetic is a full synthetic that uses synthetic-base oils and provides performance consistent with many synthetics in the market. Our Product Comparison Chart shows how these products differ."

I would put PP on the lines of Mobil Super Syn, and PU next to Mobil 1. I don't know about the Quaker State oils.

All of these oils are now so close in quality.

OMG!!! Please hook us with the links or whatever so we can see this info asap. Sounds like you struck gold in finding the information that brought you to this finding>>>>>

Nobody had even seen this product until last week and nobody has posted a VOA or a used oil analysis. I'll reserve judgement until I see some real info. If I wasn't testing out the bio-based G-Oil, I'd be trying it. Who knows, it might be good enough that a person might question paying more for M1. Sort of like Pennzoil Platinum and Quaker State Synthetic in relation to Pennz. Ultra.

Ive been dying to see a VOA on this Super Syn. I have a hard time believing it could be better than Quaker State Ultimate Durability. I would assume it would have more moly, all their oils have a strong shot of moly compared to the competition.

if they dont figure out how to move PU, that may just happen, i think theyve missed their mark w PU

Ironically, PU has been $2 cheaper than PP in the 5 litre jug at my local Walmarts, and has been since Christmas. They have even moved it right beside the Mobil 1 instead of having it alongside the other SOPUS products.

anyone know the reasoning of M1 jumping up to 24.50? Last oil change was about $20 for a 5 quart jug.

I disagree I put mobil super syn with Quaker state. Mobil 1 with Pennzoil Platinum. Mobil 1 Extended Performance with Pennzoil Ultra.
