I was looking at a jug of this oil today, I have been using it and noticed that it doesn't say it is a syn. blend like it used to. The 5qt. jug has a design change to its label as well.

I checked their web site and it doesn't have syn. listed either.

It seems that this oil has went conventional.

Anyone else seen or heard anything?

It is it says on the back in the lil list with check marks. I have a pic to upload if you need more proof. I just bought a jug yeaterday.

Yes it says this on the old label but the new label says nothing about syn. and their site has removed it as well. I have been using this oil off and on for some time and the labels have changed.

I just checked the site before posting the info about the change.

Oh. lol. I thought i recognized you.

The product description page is new because it used to say syn. blend but it has been changed and now says it is a "unique formulation".

The 5qt. jugs have new labels, I have a jug from my last oil change and they are different and the old jug mentions syn. the new one doesn't. The only thing the new label mentions is the seal conditioner.

This oil might still be a blend but if it is, Mobil doesn't want anyone to know by the label and general description.

If it is a blend youd think theyd want to advertise it. $15 for a syn blend Hm is a great deal and id think theyd want people to know it. Doesnt make much sense to me to hide it if its in the formulation. The synthetic blend and price are what prompted me to buy it over others.

Super HM

Click on the Product Data Sheet. It says, "Mobil Super High Mileage uses a combination of synthetic and conventional high quality base oils combined with modern performance additives to help provide long engine life and outstanding protection for vehicles with more than 75,000 miles."

That may be what the PDS says BUT the new label says it is a "unique formulation" and says nothing about being a blend on the bottles.

The product description and tech page has also dropped the word synthetic when describing the oil. The new label description is very similar to what WPP Super Tech HM says on its label and it isn't a blend.

It is quite possible that Mobil has not updated everything on the PDS or they may just not want to mention it being a blend. If they are keeping the blend quiet, that seems like a bad idea. I do know that the MSDS has already been changed before this regarding a lowering of the flash point.

I used it mainly because it was a blend. If it is no longer such, I don't know if there is a real reason to use it especially when you can get a 5qt. bottle of Maxlife for .80 more cents and it is a syn. blend.

Don't take this wrong but based on what? No such on new label. No such in actual description on web site.

The only thing at the moment saying such is the PDS and with Mobil, is it accurate? The MSDS only states it as being "severely refined" base oil.

If your that concerned about it just don't use it. Just grab one of the HM oils that says synblend on the label.

Concerned? I like most here like to know something about the oil I use and what is in it to some degree. I also like others here don't like to be misled by oil companies.

If it is no longer a syn. blend, say so, call it the conventional it is like Pennzoil does with theirs, don't just change the label slightly and lead the customer into thinking it is still a blend if it isn't.

If all you get with this possible "new" version is a seal conditioner ,then it needs to be cheaper. The quart bottles have actually increased in price.

It is SN so we know that phos. is limited. It probably has titanium which is ok but that isn't a reason to buy it over other hm oils.

This oil was one of the few choices that are syn. blends in my area and one of the other choices I refuse to use, Maxlife is the only other choice.
