Mobil One - How Many Miles Do You Guys Run It?

I've used M-1 5w20 a number of times. IMO, its a great oil. I have a Duratec (2.3L) engine that is easy on oil.

On one run, after doing several 2000+ all freeway round-trips, I ran an OCI of over 10,000.

But since most of my current driving is mixed, I run M-1 at a safe OCI (IMO)) of about 7,500 +/-.....and I'm doing that with my current fill of PP 5w20 as well. I use a PureOne filter exclusively, and never any make-up oil. It just doesn't use any oil no matter how long the OCI's.

I will be going to M-1 0w20 on my next OCI, after two runs of PP.

I'm running M1 0w-40 In my 4.0 jeep wrangler (6qt sump) and have 4900 miles on the oil (engine at 83k). I have never had a UOA done before and I have done alot of short trips on the oil. It now sees mainly 20+ mile trips with the occasional short trip down the road. Im running a P1 filter (oversized) and the oil level has consistently been at the full mark. The oil has been in for 7 months now. When should i drain the oil? I'm going to be sending out a sample after i drain it.

Been looking forward to that UOA a while now!

I now have Pennzoil Ultra ( which I really hope you guys are right about Pennzoil not sludguing anymore) and a Bosch D+.

I will dump that oil after a month and put in fresh Pennzoil Ultra to make up for going too far past the MM on my last OCI.

PU and the D+ filter has been the best combo on my Honda. I'll eventually go back to that once I use up my other stash of brands.

We're using the M1 0W-20 in a 2010 Camry and changing anywhere from 7k - 9k with an OEM cartridge filter. 70K on the clock, so far. I don't really know how long the 0W-20 is good for - it doesn't say.

M1 0-20 has a 10K warranty. I run it it for 10K without blinking an eye.

Thanks. Makes me feel better about using a Pennzoil product ( hope it doesn't sludge!)

"BEST," how??

If you own a Honda Pilot like the other thread, I would say 3-5 k.Alot of situations as you can see but some need adjustments, with all the " the guy in the Diner advice." IMHO! Remember this is guess city.

I already posted my usual 10K OCI with M1 on this thread, but I have many friends and family that run much longer. One, does 15+K with M1 5-30EP, 160K on the Ford engine. Another does 15-20K on reg M1 5-30 in his 5.3 Silverado. 320K on his. Another is at 340K on a Duratech V6 with M1 5-30 and 10+K OCI. Also my son put 354K with 10-14K OCI with M1 10-30 As I have said many times, 10K is a snap with most engines on M1 oils, that's why I have used it for so long.

I'm not an exclusive M1 user, but I've run it a few times. I change mine every 6 mos due to warranty. This is typically 6-7.5K miles.

For me, it depends upon the vehicle. The 97 Camry is a known sludger so it gets new M1HM every 5k. On the 07 Camry I'm working toward a 10K oci using M10W20 as soon as the odometer gets to a number ending in 0 (80K in this case). The S60 gets M1 0w40 with the Volvo recommended 7500 mile OCI until next summer when the extended warranty runs out. My point in sharing all this is a belief that the appropriate interval for M1 depends a great deal on the circumstance, especially how hard the particular engine is on oil.
