Purchased my first bottel of MX2T Mobil 2 stroke oil. Appears that they do not put dye in oil.
Never before have I seen 2 stroke oil without a dye. Is this why it is suppose to be cleaner burning? No dye in it. And I wonder if I have any warranty issues if the shop will question if I used the proper fuel. Running 2 strokes without oil is a common reason for engine failure. So that is what shops look at first.
Wonder why they do not put the dye in ?

Where do you guys get this MX2T? I don't remember seeing it in places like Advance or Pep Boys, but it might have been there. Or do I need to go to a motorcycle shop or something like that?

Thanks,
Jason

I was a little skeptical when read some of the comments here regarding MX2T, but after trying it, I am totally sold. The other day I was running my leaf blower and my neighbor wondered how I got to run without smoking. I let him run a tank thru his blower and he too is sold.

Can Mobil 1 MX2T be used in an injection system? I have a golf cart that uses an oil injection system that runs at 128:1. The Amsoils 100:1 stuff says not to use it in injection systems. I know Amsoil makes an injector oil, but you can't get the stuff around here very easy, and it comes in gallon jugs when I have seen it. It would take 10 years to burn up a gallon of oil in that thing. 1 pint has lasted 2 years so far.

Does anyone know what the difference is between an oil for oil injection systems and premix oil is? Is it viscosity? Some bottles say don't use in injection systems, some say you can, and some don't specify anything.

injection oils are generally of a lower viscosity. MX2T isnt very thick and has a high vis index so it doesnt gell up like petrol based oils do. In 5 below temps this winter it poured better than Phillips injex pro, semi synthetic snowmobile oil.

I just bought a bottle of it at AZ for my Lawnboy. I'm going to mix it at 32:1 and see the result. I've run nothing but Amsoil 100:1 mixed at 80:1 in it previously, so I don't know what difference, if any, I will see.

FWIW,
I noticed today that Mobil1 has added a bright red dye to Racing 2T oil. Now in the same style bottle (1 qt) as the SM motor oil.

TLR469, I just bought Two bottles of Mx2t now relabled Racing 2T and marketing in quart bottles and looking thru the measuring stripe on the bottle it appeared that It had red dye in it. Not wanting to open the bottle until the previous bottle was gone I got on mobils web site and asked two questions, 1st, have they re-fomulated MX2T or is it just renamed, 2nd, have they put a red dye in the oil? The answer came back as they just re-named it to racing 2T and the person answering my question was unaware of the red dye. Thinking I might of been seeing things I took a second look and sure enough I see RED! Now it makes me wonder if they answered the first question right? Oh well now I won't be needing to dye my mix blue anymore! FWIW I run a 32 to 1 mix in everything and all my engines love it, No SMOKE after warm up and they seem to run higher RPM's on MX2T than Amsoil Saber.

I noticed the color because one bottle was dripping on the floor at AZ. Red like ATF. I haven't tried Amsoil, but MX2T seems to run more crisp and clean at 40:1 in my chainsaw, trimmer and blower than Husqvarna XP at 50:1.

So if I put this in diesel do you think it will look like the red off road fuel? or more like just ATF in the diesel that easily dilutes the dye?

I was actually wondering what it would look like in super unleaded when you posted your question about diesel. Just curious, what application uses 2-cycle oil in diesel fuel?
