I used a batch of Mobil-1 and it seems to make my Hemi louder.I tried Amsoil XL-7500 and it was much more quite.Joe

Mobil 1 one is a fine oil, but many notice more 'metallic' engine noise with it. I noticed it, but not a huge difference.

Mobil 1 makes my Z`s VG whisper. I can get on it and you can`t even hear the engine. All you hear is the exhaust. Seems like some engines are oil finicky. I tried syntec one time and it gave me really bad lifter tap.
Hey I just put some PP in my car and this is the first time I put full syn in after 27 thousand miles. How long does full syn take to smooth out after using dino and blends for so long?

I found M1 made the top end of my engine louder as well. I used to be a religious M1 user, and I think it had that effect on all of my previous vehicles too. I just blamed it on the vehicles getting old. As soon as I switched from M1 to anything else (currently running GC) I immediately noticed it was quieter (ie. in the first 5 second after startup to back down off of my ramps) and that I could hear everything else (alternator, power steering, ticking lifter) very clearly because 'other noise' was missing. All the cars in question were DOHC, one with solid lifters.
Some people on BITOG accept that this happens. Others will argue until they're blue in the face and ask for calibrated noise meter measurements under the hood etc... I can't be bothered to entertain the second group (especially since I'd have to go back to M1). I suspect that it might have a lot to do with the construction of the engine (push rod, SOHC, DOHC etc...) which is why some notice it and others don't.

Unless the newer oil is cleaning up deposits not cleaned by the older oil, the answer is: 2.1 seconds...or however long it takes for the oil pressure to reach "normal" throughout the engine. You're asking for a timetable regarding a foregone conclusion that isn't happening.
My last two cars (Grand Prix and Monte Carlo) have had the same motor, except the Monte is supercharged. The GP ran like a top on M1, while the Monte is noisy as #@$%!. I thought that it was just my imagination until I tried some other oils, and it quieted down. I had such good luck with Mobil and the GP that it really threw me that the Monte sounded so bad on it, until I read other people mentioning the same issue here.
M-1 has made more noise in 2 vehicles for me and quieted one down.....so my answer is : "I dont have a clue"
When I did my first non-dealer oil change on my motorcycle, I used Mobil 1 15w-50 (back before I read the gospel) and noticed an immediate quieting of the engine under idle, roll-on, and shifting--which was smooth as silk thanks to the thicker lube! I've since gone to M1 10w-40 with similar result--least as far as my ears can verify!
I've used many different types of oil in 3 cars (1 Pontiac and 2 Fords) over the last ten yrs. The M1 didn't sound any different then the other dinos, blends and syns.
I use M1 in my 2000 Toyota Avalon. I can't even hear the engine run when I am next to it.
Used M1 0W40 Tri syn in the Mazda. Very noisy and high consumption BUT that was before RX ing the engine.

When I switched from Mobil 1 oil my truck to Amsoil ASL it was a lot quieter. Since then I have used only Amsoil in various versions.
