Here we go again ...

When I used Mobil 1, it was so loud that the neighbor in my duplex came over and knocked on the door about it. That is when I made the decision to use Amsoil in the VUE and PP in the Saturn.

Hi,
the noise from M1 in San Francisco is readily heard here in The Tropical Whitsundays of OZ

Funny that "the noise" from some engines using M1 seems to result in excellent engine durabily results and it has done so for years

Oh well..................I suppose that it is almost as bad a Amsoil "growing" thicker...........!!

Regards
Doug

I noticed M1 made my engine more noisy before I became a member of this board. Switched to Amsoil and it's quieter than ever. It sounded like valvetrain noise. I'm not saying it's bad because I don't think anyone has proven that more noise equals more wear. My GN has piston slap that would scare some people when cold and the cylinders look great.

I run Redline in my '87 Grand National. Before that it was all Mobil 1. I had no noise with Mobil 1 nor now with Redline. I don't buy into the noisy engine with X brand of oil.

I don't either. People are delusional.

I quite using Mobil 1 when after the neighbor came over and asked me to quiet down when the engine was idling, I went for a drive. I noticed that when I have Mobil 1 in the vehicle is more prone to being hard to steer in higher winds. Like the fact that Exxon Mobil hates puppies wasn't bad enough.
