Here's some photos of a Mobil 1 M1-301A used as a spin on transmission filter. This was off my truck, it was on there for about 2 years and about 4000 miles. Looks perfectly fine, I'm rebuilding the transmission and putting a new engine in the truck and will put a new filter on. I'm also redoing the cooler lines are they were garbage and kinked in a couple of spots. Not sure what to put back on, anyone have any recommendations for an actual 3/4-16 spin on transmission or hydraulic filter this size or slightly smaller?

this transmission was still working perfectly fine after 38 years 254,000 miles of being abused. Actually, really impressed how good it looked inside. The front pump outer seal was starting to leak though. I think the TCI low drag/full roller kit and a new 2000-200 stall converter will help it out though :D

I’d say maybe a Tough Giard or Wndurance 3600 filter would work good.

That filter looks fine for a lot longer. Can’t see why not just use another. It’s a low flow application so about any common oil filter that fits should handle the use well. I’d use a high capacity filter for the first FCI after the rebuild. Usually there’s quite a bit of initial break in wear the 1st FCI and then not much after that.

i run a OG wire backed Fram FS8a on my truck, fully built 4l80e, 3200rpm triple disc etc.

for the two accords, they both have a carquest premium filter that crosses to the PH8a and fl1a filters. i like the silicone gaskets as they won’t be changed again and they’re manufactured by premium guard and perfect inside and out quality wise.

all the filters above are 3/4-16. other options, PH3600, PH16, PH3614 etc.

if it were mine, i’d first try to source an OG wire backed fram XG/FS8a or go to the carquest premium.
