So I have a 2001 Neon with 97k miles. Walmart sells the Mobil 1 10w30 for pretty cheap in a 5 gal jug as we all know (despite my dislike for the company) and I noticed that there is a High Mileage version with is API SL and a regular version which is API SM. Recommendations on which one is more suited to my engine? My last oil report is here:

if you're just going to run 5k mile OCIs, save a pile of money and run a top mineral oil such as 5w30 Havoline, Chevron Supreme, Pennz., Valvo., whichever is on sale. no need for a synthetic unless you are doing 10k OCIs, turbo'd, winters below -30d F continually.
the Neon engine is not a sludger so syn. not required.

look for M1 to go over $8 a qt as as their base stock costs for the GrpIII rise from crude going over $100.

The Mobil 1 10w30 and 10W-40 have been good oils so far; their thinner grades however, have been the subject of numerous noise complaints. I personally, after reading this board for so long, would not use any Mobil 1 oil that's thinner than their HM 10w30.

I get the 5 quart bottles of Maxlife 10w30 from Wal*Mart and run it at 4 month OCI's. I'm extremely happy with it.
